Tim Oakes
Director

I benefited from good old fashioned parenting with a hard work ethic, accountability and respect for others being instilled at a young age. A favourite saying of my father was this: "If you do something just for money, that's what you will get, just money". As a result I believe in building both businesses and people and place high value on long term relationships, leading by example, helping people realise their full potential and giving back to wider family and community. I also have a strong belief in the need to promote better exercise, nutrition, balanced diets and a healthy lifestyle. These core philosophies are best captured in the quote "People often doubt what you say, but they believe what you do".

James Norris
Director

The passion of food is in my blood. From a very young age I spent hours in my granddad’s bakery, dad’s delicatessen and later mum’s cafe. Looking back that is where I developed a passion for ‘making better happen’. Today it means changing the food industry by bringing back quality ingredients and products so that Kiwis have better options in the pantry, leading to healthier lifestyles. Twelve years on Acorn Group is the vehicle to deliver this passion every day. My daily focus is on driving brands through an internal culture of performance all the while ensuring the business remains curious, honest and committed in what can be a complex industry.

Elliot Keys
General Manager

I love the hustle of FMCG - and with that dynamic environment comes a need to constantly evolve, improve, and discover. Like many people, I have great memories of family gatherings around the dinner table, the barbecue, or the picnic blanket celebrating milestones, traditions, or holidays with their favourite foods as a backdrop. So it's extra special being part of showcasing amazing food brands to Kiwis so they create amazing memories of their own. With a background in commercial finance both in the United Kingdom and Aotearoa New Zealand then nine years building and leading high-performing sales teams I have always actively sought to develop new skills and knowledge sets across my career. Today, Acorn Group is an exciting opportunity to apply everything I’ve experienced and learned.

Jane Goh
Marketing Manager

I have extensive global business exposure in FMCG and proven expertise across multiple categories, positioning me to effectively navigate and deliver impactful marketing initiatives in fast-paced, complex business environments. From amplifying brand awareness through integrated marketing leadership and tactical activation to adapting global brand strategies for local markets. I am passionate about making better happen by sparking positive change and bringing brands to life. Outside of work, I’m a food enthusiast who loves exploring new recipes at home and discovering unique culinary experiences. When I'm off the clock, you'll likely find me soaking up nature—often taking an island escape during the holidays.

Kate Feek
Brand Manager

I love the challenges and fast pace of the ever-changing and evolving FMCG industry and have worked in Brand Management within the NZ FMCG environment for over 15 years. With a passion for food combined with brands that offer ‘better for you’ options, I feel privileged to present them to New Zealand retailers so that consumers can make better health choices for themselves. Born and raised in the UK, I fell in love with New Zealand’s beautiful coasts and countryside when travelling here, and chose to relocate permanently in 2005. After playing golf and taking my dog on long walks I enjoy spending my spare time discovering new recipes and tastes.

Reagan Smith
Assistant Brand Manager

I confess to spending a lot of time in the data, I love delving into the category insights and generating the business case for brand growth stories. I have been told I am classic Gen Z because I read every back of pack, and know exactly what I am consuming in preparation for my next gym visit,

Rowan Brown
Key Account Manager

After starting out in FMCG customer services 20 years ago, my passion for people has seen me venture into sales, corporate, and more recently, working with local and international brands building great customer relationships. I am dedicated to my customers and brands, and every day is different in our fast-paced industry. I ‘make better happen’ by always trying to work efficiently and simplifying the experience for our customers so they may focus on theirs. As a ‘foodie’ through and through, I love eating out or dabbling in ‘Masterchef’ moments in the kitchen at home. Our love for food, wine, travel, and music keeps my husband and me occupied outside of work.

Rosie Power
Supply Chain Manager

My career in supply chain management has given me valuable expertise in all aspects of fulfillment. At Acorn I am responsible for all operational activity - from purchasing to inventory management - ensuring we deliver best-in-class services to all our customers. The fast pace, problem-solving, and daily challenges that arise keep the environment and industry exciting. I ‘make better happen’ by leveraging my strengths and working with our team to create solutions that reflect our agility and passion for our brands. Away from work, I love keeping fit with outdoor activities, the gym, sports - especially tennis & hockey - and walking my dog. Otherwise, you’ll find me at the beach with my friends and family.

Nick Pool
National Field
Sales Manager

I’m proud to say my career in FMCG is now 30 years strong and my passion for the industry remains. I revel in working face-to-face with our team and customers finding new ways to achieve sales growth. This means thinking outside-the-box to achieve this in the ever-changing FMCG environment.

To ‘make better happen’ I lean on my experience to map out what the future success of a brand looks like, building relationships with key stakeholders in the field to achieve that result. Relationships are a big part of my personal life too – spending time with family and friends, watching my two daughters play hockey and water polo and participating myself in hockey and running.

Mervi Elim
Accountant

I love getting into the nitty gritty of accounting. The continuous growth and learning in my role as Accounts Administrator keep things interesting. I ‘make better happen’ by staying motivated, keeping a can-do attitude, and fostering positive energy through effective communication with the team and customers. You can count on me! In my spare time, I am usually cosying up at home to watch my favourite shows on Netflix and Viki.

Reona Gopal
Assistant Supply Chain Manager

I thrive in the fast-paced world of FMCG and with over 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, I love being part of the journey that takes our brands from start to end. At Acorn Group, I 'make better happen' by optimizing inventory management, collaborating with our team and 3PL partners, and continuously striving to improve processes. Problem-solving is at the heart of what I do, and I see every challenge as a growth opportunity.

Caroline Bell
Strategic Growth Manager

A planner by nature and a foodie at heart, I love nothing more than bringing new products and brands to market. With nearly 30 years of experience working both agency and client side, I’ve gleaned the best of big business process but thrive on the momentum of getting new products and brands to market for consumers to enjoy. After work I’m juggling teenagers, spending as much time at the beach and plotting family holidays.

Our team across New Zealand:

Shelley De Vries
Regional Business Manager, Upper Auckland and Northland

With substantial experience in the FMCG industry I feel honoured to be part of the Acorn Group family because I thrive on interacting with a truly vibrant and supportive team. I believe ‘making better happen’ is all about building strong relationships, providing great options, promoting healthy choices and showcasing innovative products. As an advocate for a work-life balance you’ll find me supporting family and friends on the side-lines at any and all sporting events with my beautiful British Bulldog.

Jane Howard
Regional Business Manager, Auckland

My passion for Acorn Group’s products is the result of a long and varied career in hospitality and supermarket bussinesses. After thirty plus years, managing hotels, owning my own restaurant, starting a catering business and extensive experience within the Foodstuffs group managing and developing food concepts it is safe to say I have a distinct love for food. My hunger to succeed is based on understanding the individual needs of different stores, providing healthy options and employing my business experience to ensure I ‘make better happen’ for all my customers.

Lucy Parke
Regional Business Manager, Lower North Island East

I have worked in FMCG for 17 years, starting as a merchandiser and now a Regional Business Manager serving Petone, Wairarapa, Manawatu & Hawkes Bay. I enjoy our industry’s ever-changing environment, personal interactions and the opportunity to showcase great brands. I ‘make better happen’ by raising awareness of features and benefits of our products so customers can make better choices.

Shaun McCarthy
Regional Business Manager, Lower North Island West

My extensive background in marketing & retail, includes owning a New World and several 4 Squares. Now selling products in an industry I truly understand has given me the opportunity to create even more connections within this dynamic and ever-changing environment. Whenever someone asks what I love the most about my job I always say the people, the people, the people. I ‘make better happen’ by being the conduit for our brands to gain traction, gather momentum and continue sales by being at the ‘coalface’ with my colleagues. Away from work I consider myself very lucky to have my six children and six grandchildren living close by, so a lot of my time is spent with family. I compete in Ironman, Ultraman, swimming, cycling, and running events both in New Zealand and overseas.

Dave Tregenza
Regional Business Manager, Upper South Island

My 18+ years of FMCG experience has had a strong connection within the International Food category. This is where I get to discuss and implement opportunities for our business partners and see them through to fruition. For me ‘making better happen’ is all about making client interactions natural and enjoyable so that we can build quality relationships - and that is the foundation of what we strive for at Acorn Group. My spare time is spent playing masters football, mountain biking, gardening, and barbequing.

Lynn Stenning
Regional Business Manager, Lower South Island

After starting a family, I moved to Dunedin and started a rep job for a small bakery. My passion for sales began and over the last 22 years working with a range of companies I have an in-depth understanding of different buyers. I love the Acorn portfolio because of the unique health-driven brands it offers. Living a Keto and low carb lifestyle has made Acorn Group’s products a match made in heaven for me, so ‘make better happen’ by chatting openly with customers about my personal passion and belief in our products. I also love being part of a team that listens to each other’s ideas so that we all grow. My absolute passion is cooking and baking – especially my own Keto/low carb recipes. When I’m not experimenting in the kitchen, gardening, or renovation you’ll find me walking my puppy or having a meal or coffee in town with friends.
